Sadowsky MetroLine 22-Fret Will Lee Artist Line Bass, Red Alder Body, Morado Fingerboard, 5-String - Bora Blue Burst Transparent Satin Roger Sadowsky's goal was always to further improve an already very successful bass design by making a number of detailed improvements. Roger succeeded in raising the well-known P/J bass sound to a new level with the Sadowsky tone: Never harsh or shrill sounding, with strong, powerful but never muddy bass, with present, but not too aggressive mids, and a sweet and airy treble range. This modern bass sound can also be found in the Sadowsky MetroLine Will Lee Artist line basses. Will Lee is one of the best and most requested bass players in the world, having played for Late Night / Late Show with David Letterman, Horace Silver, George Benson, Bette Middler and many more). This 5-string bass, seen here in a Bora Blue Burst Transparent Satin finish, features a sleek, undersized, chambered J-Style body made of Red Alder. The slim neck is made of American Maple and features a Morado (Pau Ferro) fingerboard. Also included are Sadowsky J/J pickups and active electronics with true bypass, a custom made preamp built to Will Lee's own specifications with added mid-boost (500 and 800 Hz) for more punch, plus Vintage Tone Control, treble and bass boost. This bass also features ultralight Sadowsky tuners and the Sadowsky Quick String Release Bridge. One special feature is the slightly narrower 1.75" / 44.5 mm nut width compared to other Sadowsky 5-String basses. String spacing at the bridge is 0.75" / 19 mm and the distance between all of the strings is 2.99" / 76 mm. Sadowsky MetroLine Artist Line basses are made exclusively in Germany. The weight of this bass is never more than 8.9 lbs (4.0 kg). A good choice for players who want a lightweight bass that offers a modern bass sound.
